As I set my eyes upon the school premises for the first time, a wave of contentment washed over me, and a gentle breeze brushed against my curved iris. The ethos of Cardinal Nsubuga was centered around genuine hospitality, with fellow students warmly greeting me and assisting with my luggage. Their “Nice to meet you, what is your name?” were precisely the words I longed to hear. Despite my fear of heights, I was spellbound by the facilities and bungalows that were remarkably suitable for someone like me. This environment truly evoked a sense of belonging, akin to being at home. The computer laboratory ignited my interest in ICT, while the science laboratory fueled my enthusiasm for the sciences, leaving me grinning in a state of wonder and elation.
The matron exuded an exceptional level of care, reminiscent of my own mother, which gave me the comforting feeling of still being at home. Cardinal Nsubuga had an almost maternal embrace. As the next morning dawned, I embarked on my journey to the classroom, accompanied by nervousness about encountering new teachers. To my pleasant astonishment, the educators I encountered were not only loving, but also compassionate, understanding, and approachable. It was becoming increasingly evident that Cardinal Nsubuga was truly my haven, a place I was reluctant to depart from.
